Chamber Presents Business Education Award

One of the Garden City Chamber of Commerce's recent initiatives has been the formation of a charitable foundation. One of the missions of the Foundation is to award an annual scholarship to a deserving Garden City High School student who has excelled in the area of business.
It is announced by Joanne Adams, president of the Garden City Chamber of Commerce Foundation, Inc., that Madison Horl, a senior at Garden City High School has been selected by the Business and Guidance Departments to receive the Chamber Foundation's 2008 Excellence in Business Education Scholarship Award at the Chamber's 6th annual Pineapple Ball on April 18 at the Gar-den City Hotel. This award recognizes the student who best exemplifies the spirit of the Garden City business community by achieving academic success in the area of business.
Madison Horl has taken a wide variety of business classes at Garden City High School including College Accounting, Marketing and Advertising, Finance, and Business Law. She is also the co-president of the Garden City High School chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America. Madison will attend the College of the Holy Cross in the fall and plans on majoring in economic accounting.
The Pineapple Ball will also honor Gerard Lundquist as Citizen of the Year,
