Garden City Senior News MAKE A SPRING WREATH!

The Recreation Department will sponsor a spring wreath workshop on Tuesday, April 8th at St. Paul's Senior Center. Royce from A.C. Moore will again visit us with her floral expertise and will bring enough supplies to make everyone happy. This workshop will cost $5.00 and pre-registration will be necessary by visiting the new admistrative offices on the St. Paul's Complex (108 Rockaway Ave., next door to the Senior Center) by Monday, April 7.

TAKE A TASTING TOUR OR CHELSEA MARKET AND THE MEAT PACKING DISTRICT

Join us as we travel with Prime Time Travel on Wednesday, June 11th! This trip is a peek into the past and a food tasting adventure rolled into one. Housed in a turn of the Century building that used to be the original Nabisco Bakery, Chelsea Market is an enormous wholesale/retail food complex that takes up an entire city block. While walking through this area, we will be sampling delicious specialties from different food shops.

The cost of this trip will be $80. To reserve a seat for this trip, please visit the Recreation's Department's Administrative Offices at 108 Rockaway Ave. A deposit of $25 is necessary to hold your reservation. Please make the check payable to Prime Time Travel.

lower manhattan

Step back in time on this fascinating Prime Time trip on Tuesday, May 27th! We will begin with a visit to the Irish Famine Memorial. After a stop at South Street Seaport for lunch on your own, we will continue on to the Tenement Museum where we will step back in time to the world of a 14 year old girl who lived with her family at 97 Orchard Street in 1916. A costumed educator will then take us through the museum, explaining what life was like at the turn of the century. The cost of this trip will be $52. To reserve a seat for this trip, please visit the Recreation's Department's Administrative Offices at 108 Rockaway Ave. A deposit of $25 is necessary to hold your reservation. St. Paul's senior center

St Paul's Senior Center is located in the cottages at St. Paul's Recreation Complex and is open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for any resident of Garden City aged 60 or older and a guest. The weekly schedule is as follows:

Monday, April 7 - 10 a.m. Exercise with Felicia

- 11 a.m. Bingo -followed by brown bag lunch and chat!

Tuesday, April 8 - 10 a.m. - Try some of our board games!

Wednesday, April 9 -10 a.m. Exercise with Felicia

- 11:30 a.m. Brown Bag Lunch

- 1 p.m. We will be honored to have our own Village Administrator, Bob Schoelle, give a talk on Village Affairs.

Thursday, April 10 - 10 a.m. Computer Kindergarten - Preregistration was necessary

- 1 p.m. Crochet with Natalie - no experience is necessary for this free program

Friday, April 11 - 10 a.m. Exercise with Felicia
