The Garden City High School Cheerleading Squads invite children in grades 1 through 5 to join them at a fun cheerleading clinic on May 3. Today's cheerleaders are athletes with a wide range of skills, including precision movements, gymnastics and tumbling, lifting and pyramids, and dancing ability. Cheerleading encourages cardiovascular stamina and strength-building. This clinic will be taught with all different age groups in mind and each group will be taught separately.

• Saturday, May 3, 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm at the Garden City High School main gym

• $35 fee includes a Garden City Cheerleading t-shirt (new for 2008!), snacks, and instruction. (Siblings are $30 each)

• The participants will learn cheer technique, proper yelling technique, jumps, dances, and basic-level stunting. New routines and cheers will be taught.

• Hurry, deadline for registration is April 11! Due to the popularity of this event, please register early, as space is limited. To register, send an e-mail with your child's name, grade, address and t-shirt size to gccheering@yahoo.com. For more information about the clinic, contact Coach Sara Tucci at gccheering@yahoo.com.
