What's Up For Young Adults At The Library April Yak & Snack
Just in time for the start of baseball season, Mike Lupica's book Heat has been selected for the next Yak & Snack, which is scheduled for April 12 at 2PM. Sportswriter Mike Lupica has hit an-other home run with this YA novel. The story addresses the issues of brothers, orphans, illegal aliens, and baseball. Pitching prodigy, Michael Arroyo is on the run from social services after being banned from playing Little League baseball because rival coaches question his age. He is only 12 but without parents has no proof of this. What are your thoughts? Tell us at the book discussion. Refreshments will be served.
Registration for all YA programs may be done in person at the Young Adult desk, by phone to the Young Adult Librarian (516-742-8405), or by email to mkelly@gardencitypl.org.
