The classic Tony award-winning musical of 1961 by Mike Stewart, Charles Strouse, and Lee Adams tells the tale of Conrad Birdie, the rock and roll heart-throb of the day. Birdie is about to be inducted into the army. But first, he will appear on national television to bestow a departing kiss on the All-American cheek of Kim MacAfee of Sweet Apple, Ohio. Needless to say, events do not go according to plan: Kim's father becomes obsessed with the prospect of appearing on national television and Kim's boyfriend becomes disastrously jealous, just to name two of many hilarious plot twists. Some 100 students--including the cast, stage crew and orchestra--participated in the production under the direction of Steven Mayo, Brandon Psenicka, James McCrann, Jeanne Kennedy and Kathyrn Parathyrus.
