Former GC Resident Releases Comedy Book
Humor columnist Jennifer Zajac has a new book out titled, I Read It Somewhere, So It Must Be True: Notes From a Mom Who Reads Too Much. Available now, the book is a collection of her funny stories about families, relationships and the weird stuff parents of young children read and watch. Jennifer is an alumna of Garden City High School, Class of 1987.
An accomplished journalist and radio personality, Zajac's experience includes writing and reporting for a variety of magazines, including Parents for Parents, People, Money, Institutional Investor and Sports Illustrated.
Many of Zajac's popular stories are taken from personal experiences and several favorites are featured in I Read It Somewhere, including: A Hairy Day, in Haiku, a harrowing tale of her daughter's disastrous first haircut; If You Give a Mom a Cookie, a spoof of the popular children's book; The Turkey Who Came to Thanksgiving, which describes an uncle who caused more stomach upsets than grandma's creamed onions; and her title story, I Read It Somewhere, which begins:
A former stand-up comedienne, she met her husband while performing improvisational comedy with ComedySportz in Washington, D.C. They have two children ages 6 and 1, who are a constant source of humor and inspiration. She earned a bachelor's degree from The George Washington University.
