Enrique Austria takes his turn examining the heart Continuing in the fine tradition of sharing his expertise with St. Joseph's School, Dr. Dan Murphy, Director of Emergency Medicine at Mercy Medical Center, spent a class in the Science Lab discussing the heart and its functions. The seventh grade was treated to a lecture on human anatomy and an informal question and answer session led by Dr. Murphy, who then walked the class through a dissection of a cow's heart. The students were asked to identify the left and right ventricles, arteries, veins and valves and then discussed the leading causes of heart disease and attacks. A very big thank you to Dr. Murphy for continuing this valuable program for the seventh grade! For pictures and more information, please visit www.advantageforlife.org
