Kristen Kern and Colin Stimmler Mrs. Kate Kern of Garden City is delighted to announce the engagement of her daughter, Kristen, to Colin Stimmler son of Mr. & Mrs. Leo Stimmler of Garden City.

Kristen graduated from Garden City High School in 1998 and from Villanova University in 2002. She currently is employed at Hallmark Magazine as their Advertising Director.

Colin graduated from Garden City High School in 1997 and from Santa Clara University in 2001. He was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Nepal for two years. Colin received his master's degree in International Political Economy and Development from Fordham University in 2006. He currently works for the City of New York's Department of Homeless Services as an Emergency Planner.

A May 2009 wedding is planned.
