Tea and tee shirts made a great combination at the Ladies' Tea held recently at Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Garden City. About 90 women attended and enjoyed good company, delicious sandwiches, and baked goods as well as a variety of hot teas. The tee shirts provided a starting point for many conversations.

Entertainment was provided by musically gifted youth from the congregation: Gerard Bolling, who sang two beautiful songs in Italian including Per La Gloria; Mirana Rakotoarison, who sang in her native Malagasy and French; and Lynn Diana who played Concerto in D minor by Mendelson on the viola. All of the musicians performed unaccompa-nied and delighted the audience with their skill and poise.

Elizabeth Bezrutczyk reported on activities at Resurrection's new site called The Life, located on Jericho Turnpike in Old Westbury. Top on her list was the announcement that Resurrection has been recognized as an Ablaze Covenant Congregation and has received a $50,000 grant by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans to launch ministry at The Life. Liz also discussed the ongoing activities of the Preschool at The Life and the plan to have current members assist in the start of new services and activities. Registration for the Preschool at The Life is now ongoing, and potential registrants can call 516.333.3355 to enroll. All pro-ceeds from the Ladies' Tea were combined with a free will offering to be used to further the growth of ministry at The Life.

Resurrection is a multi-site Christian community of faith. All are invited to worship at 5:30 PM on Saturdays and at 8:30 and 11 AM Sunday morn-ings, with Christian Education at 9:45 AM at the 420 Stewart Avenue location in Garden City.
