Hempstead Town Councilman Edward Ambrosino (4th right, back row) gathers with students at Homestead Elementary School in Garden City to thank them for their participation in the Valentines for Vets program, which the Town instituted in 2001. Through this program students create valentines to send to veterans in local VA hospitals. The councilman collects the valentines and brings them to a veteran's organization, which then delivers them to the hospitalized veterans.
