In Memoriam
Michael DeMasi
Michael DeMasi, a resident of Garden City for 20 years, passed away on January 31, 2008. He fought a difficult battle with tremendous strength, courage and dignity over the past year. At the age of 58, he was taken from us too prematurely. He was extremely devoted to his wife and daughter, and very proud of all of their accomplishments. He was a loyal and dedicated employee for the New York Times for 34 years. He was a loving, thoughtful and caring gentleman, always willing to help those in need. He had a contagious zest for life and a tremendous passion for traveling. He truly enjoyed traveling extensively and often with his wife, daughter, friends and family. All those who knew him, feel blessed to have shared their lives with him. He leaves behind his beloved wife Patricia, cherished daughter Jaclyn C Panarese, loving parents Catherine and the late Maurice, dear sister Donna and Carl. Also survived by brother Daniel and Jane. Dear son-in-law of Jack and Nora Tansim, brother-in-law Robert and Maryann, John and Doreen. Loving uncle to D.J, Jason, Christopher, Alyssa, Nicholas, Michael, Robert, Dena, Christopher. Adored friend to many. He will be sorely missed by everyone. We know he has the key to heaven and will forever be our guardian. His wife and daughter would like to extend their gratitude to Kevin Tenreiro, wonderful friends and neighbors, (especially those on Fenimore Ave.), family and the Church of St. Anne for their support during his year long illness, and in helping us cope with this tragic loss.
