Community Club To Host TV Personality

Ira Joe Fisher , known to most area viewers as the weather reporter on WCBS-TV, will be the guest speaker at the Community Club on Wednesday, March 12th at 1:30 p.m. at the Garden City Casino.

Mr. Fisher will not discuss weather…instead he will read selections from his recently published volume of poetry Some Holy Weight in the Village Air.

Mr. Fisher holds an MFA from New England College and currently teaches poetry at the University of Connecticut at Stamford. His poetry has appeared in various literary journals. He has also received two Emmy Awards for television writing and has appeared off-Broadway and on the ABC daytime drama Loving.
