Happenings At Saint Anne's School
Fifth grade color guard Cara Farelli, Beau O'Connell, Tim Landers and Bridget Dean lead the way.
Saint Anne's Irish eyes were smiling last Sunday with a strong representation at the Garden City St. Patrick's Day Parade. Under the leadership of the parent, Trish Farelli, over 70 students, teachers and parents including the school band and cheerleaders showed off the tremendous energy that exists at the school.
Production is underway for the Rodgers and Hammerstein's Sound of Music to be directed by Marilyn McLean and assisted by Mimi Jaye and first grade teacher Monica Hein. Cast is made up of students from 5th through 8th grade and starring Caitlyn Kearney as Maria and Paul Toscano as Captain Von Trapp. The performances will take place on Saturday April 19 and Sunday April 20.
Registration for the upcoming school year took place in early February. Over 500 students are enrolled for 2008/2009 school year including 3 sections of Kindergarten for the first time in many years. There are select openings at some grade levels and interested parties should contact Dr. O'Sullivan for additional information.
Colleen Farelli, Jamie Rodgers, Tara Marron, Matthew Bohan, Owen Roeder and Elizabeth Limonta proudly carry their school banner.
The Spirit Walk is gearing up and scheduled for Thursday April 24. Information regarding family and business sponsors will be forthcoming.
Kindergarten and First Graders along with their families will be joining the Parish Families in Service Ministry on Saturday, March 15 in making sandwiches to be donated to the Mary Brennan Inn in Hempstead.
Fourth and Fifth Graders have been active in helping the Loaves and Fishes Ministry distribute and collect Easter baskets filled with goodies to be donated to local outreach programs.
