Where In The World Is The Cure For Cooley's Anemia?
Join the Long Island Chapter of the Cooley's Anemia Foundation as they continue their quest to find the cure for Cooley's Anemia. The Chapter is hosting a brunch on Sunday, March 30, 2008, 12 noon at the Milleridge Cottage, Jericho NY. Tickets are priced at $45 per person, $22 for children under 12. There will be wonderful food, exciting raffle prizes, vendors galore, as well as a special section to keep the children busy while you shop! There will be fun for the entire family; no one is too old or too young for the Brunch!
Cooley's Anemia is a fatal, genetic blood disorder affecting thousands of children. Imagine if you had to receive a blood transfusion every two or three weeks just to live? Imagine if the very transfusion that was keeping you alive could overload all of your organs with excess iron and then cause cardiac failure? That is the daily reality facing people with Cooley's Anemia.
Your help gives these children the gift of life and hope. The Foundation has research projects that are very promising. They need the funds to continue the research. For the past 40 years, the Garden City community has been generous in donating the funds needed for research, which has added 10 to 15 years onto the lives of children born with Cooley's Anemia.
Help us kiss our children goodnight... not goodbye.
