Marge Kelly, Young Adult librarian (l) and Laura Flanagan, reference librarian, are shown with a 26" flat TV set with DVD player which was recently donated to the library by The Friends of the Library. Many Village organizations who utilize the small meeting room at the library had long expressed a need for such a set as compared with the alternative of using the large meeting room. This is best exemplified by the following letter which was sent to the president and is reprinted here with the writer's permission:

Dear Mr. Catania: On behalf of the American Association of University Women, I would like to thank The Friends of the Library for its generous gift of a new slim-line television set with a DVD player. The Great Decisions discussion group of our organization was the first to make use of the new audio-visual equipment. Your thoughtful, quick response to this need in the library was unbelievable. I am sure the entire Garden City community will enjoy this addition for a very long time.Carol Rudy, Great Decisions Chair
