Photo by Newsphoto.com The Garden City Trojans girls varsity basketball team played the Roslyn Bulldogs on Tuesday evening January 29th at Garden City High School. Garden City won the game by a score of 49-48. Barbara Sullivan hit two free throws with 27 seconds left to insure the vic-tory for GC. Sullivan led the scoring for the Trojans with 16 points. Other scoring for Garden City included: Diana Leondis (12), Katie Poppe (7), Becky Lynch (6), Jennifer MacIntyre (4) and Brittany Wilton and Kim Ryan with 2 each.

On Tuesday evening February 5th the team celebrated "Senior Night" where their four graduating seniors (Michele Bacigalupo, Dayna Defliese, Becky Lynch and Brittany Wilton) were honored during pre-game ceremonies before their game against first place Floral Park.

Garden City was able to keep the game close and entered the second half of the game with the score tied 24-24. The third quarter proved to be the deciding factor as Floral Park outscored GC 21-11 and went on to win by a score of 59-49. Garden City's high scorer was Diana Leondis with 14 points. Other scoring for GC included Becky Lynch (10), Brittany Wilton (8), Barbara Sul-livan (7), Katie Poppe (5), Amalia DeBrosse (3) and Kim Ryan (2).
