Catholic Schools Week A Celebration At St. Joseph's School
The participants of the Grade 3 - 5 Spelling Bee
St. Joseph School "Lights the Way" all week in celebration of the theme of Catholic Schools Week. The entire week was packed with activities for the students and visitors. Grade 1 began the week by running their very first prayer service. Then the 3rd - 5th grades competed in their very own Spelling Bee, followed by the Math Bee for 6th -8th grades. Thursday, Spirit Day, saw the return of the wildly popular Game Show, where students and teachers tested their knowledge of pop culture and academic skills, while enjoying a "Dress Down Day". The 7th and 8th grades competed at the annual Sports Night that evening, where the graduating 8th grade beat the 7th grade by a mere point! Friday's First Friday Mass closed the week and then the children enjoyed "Buddy Up Day". The older students were matched with the younger students for games and crafts and were then dismissed early so the faculty and staff could enjoy the PTA Teacher Appreciation Lunch, graciously hosted at the home of Maureen Michel, PTA Secretary. Thanks to all who made the week of celebration a marvelous success. We invite you to visit our website at www.advantageforlife.org.
