Update: Bone Marrow Testing

2008-02-08 / Community

As reported last week, the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of St. Paul in conjunction with AHEPA and the New York Blood Center sponsored two bone marrow testing drives for Michaella Tzakas, a four year old Franklin Square resident with M.D.S. leukemia. Thanks to your support, the response to the drive was overwhelming. We pray that the drive results in Michaella's perfect match.

To help defray the cost of testing, which is high and uncovered by insurance, the Cathedral of St. Paul will host a fundraising day on Sunday, February 10. The day will begin with a prayer service for Michaella at 3:30pm at the Church followed by a reception at 5:00 pm. Tickets are $50.00 per adult, $25.00 for children 7-13 years old and children 6 years old and under free. Tickets can be purchased by contacting the Church office at 516 483-5700 or email to piattorney@aol.com. Donations in lieu of tickets should be made payable to "Michaella Tzakas fund" and mailed to Cathedral of St. Paul 110 Cathedral Avenue, Hempstead, New York 11550. Thank you.
