On Monday, February 11, The Irish American Society will hold a Creative Writing and Book Club, at The Irish American Society, 297 Willis Avenue, Mineola, and on the second Monday of each month from noon to 2 p.m. Refreshments will be served at each ses-sion. Police Report: Mischief and Mayhem On February 1, PO Matos arrested a 50-year-old Uniondale man for aggravated unlicensed operation 1st degree, ( 33 suspensions, 10 dates) at 8:30 AM on Washington Avenue. The initial stop was because of an expired inspection sticker. The motorist also had 2 outstanding warrants for aggravated unlicensed operation...PO Marceda arrested two 19-year-old Queens Village women at Lord and Taylor on January 31 after they allegedly stole over $831 in as-sorted merchandise there. One female had pliers and the other female had a razor knife in order to remove sensor tags on the clothing, which included two Lord and Taylor hats, 1 pair of Chip and Pepper jeans valued at $180, 1 pair of Seven jeans valued at $143, and three pairs of Marc Jacobs sunglasses. The ladies were charged with burglary because they had signed a note for a prior trespass stating they would not ever enter the store again...PO Sansone arrested a 45-year-old Hampton Bays man at Willow St./ Clinton Rd., at 10:30 PM, on February 2, after he failed to signal a right turn. The motorist was driving with a revoked license (suspended due to DWI) , and was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation 2nd and 3rd degree, suspended registration, unlicensed operation, failure to signal, no insurance, and no registration...PO Conti and PO Jacobsen responded to the report of youths who had thrown a cup of ice at another car while driving at Third Street. The passenger of the car, an underage male was treated as a juvenile when he was found in possession of marijuana, and the driver of the car, a 16-year-old male, was charged with a traffic violation...PO Dallolio, while on patrol on February 2, issued appearance tickets to two 16-year-old GC males who were in possession of open cans of beer... Fire Responses: A power surge set off an alarm at South Avenue on February 1...A special needs child pulled an alarm box at Locust School on January 31...A sprinkler system overflowed on the second floor at the Cherry Valley CC on January 30...wires came down and the power went out at a Euston Rd. residence on February 1... FD rescued the occupant of a stalled elevator at County Seat Drive on February 5... Firemen secured a water main after a boiler pipe burst at a Euston Rd house on February 5... That's all this week.
