On Tuesday, December 11, following their December meeting at the Garden City Casino, board members of the Community Club of Garden City and Hempstead, Inc., adjourned to the Garden City Country Club for their annual Christmas luncheon.

President Mary Heston started the festivities off with a toast, wishing everyone a merry Christmas and a healthy and happy New Year and thanking them for all their help during the year. Past president Marie Scott was then asked to give the invocation. She read a seasonal poem, that spoke to the true meaning of Christmas. Door prizes were awarded and Bea Mercadante, Geraldine McHugh and Marge Maher were the lucky winners.
