Teamwork Exercise
Teamwork Exercise On Saturday, January 26 the Shelter Rock District of the Boy Scouts of America conducted its annual Klondike Derby. A team formed from the graduating Weblos II cub scouts from two separate Garden City Packs took second place in the competition. Eighteen Weblos teams from around Nassau County participated in the event.

Pack 55's Hawks and Pack 7's Thunderbirds joined together to form the Thunderhawks to compete in this year's competition. The competition consists of the team pulling a sledge of equipment, food and water through the woods at the Muttontown preserve. Using their orienteering skills, the team navigated from one station (called "Cities") to another. Each City tested the team's ability to meet certain challenges such as shelter building, first aid and rescue, problem solving and knot tying.

Despite coming from different Packs, the boys demonstrated outstanding cooperation and teamwork throughout the event. Their spirit of cooperation is demonstrated by their success in the competition!
