The Garden City Recreation Department has secured tickets to the New York Islanders home game on Tuesday, February 5 th vs. the 2007 Stanley Cup Champions, the Anaheim Ducks. Come see Rick DiPietro and the rest of the Islanders take on the high flying Ducks with this special offer. Tickets will sell for $30.00 (regularly $60) on a first come first serve basis. More ... The Garden City Trojans girls varsity basketball team played host to Rockville Centre's South Side Cyclones on Saturday afternoon January 12th. South Side's Tara Lonergan had a game-high 18 points and seven rebounds adding to the Cyclones 52-42 victory. Leading the scoring for Garden City was sophomore Diana Leondis with 15 points including three 3-pointers. More ... The Garden City Centennial Soccer Club is looking for qualified coaches to head our new U-10 teams that will tryout in June, 2008. The birthdates for the children on these teams will be August 1, 1998 through December 31, 1999. League Play for these teams will begin in September of 2008. More ... With Garden City High School Lacrosse Coach Steve Finnell in attendance, last Saturday the GC Rams Youth Lacrosse program held their first clinic of New Year at St. Paul's Field House. Here are this past week's highlights: KIFFEL 8TH GIRLS improved to 8 and 0 with a hard fought 35 to 29 win over LIL Pavinelli.
