Senior Selected For All-State Women's Chorus

Garden City High School senior Brittany Stein performed in the New York All-State Women's Chorus at the Eastman Theatre in Rochester in December as a part of the New York State School Music Association Winter Conference.
Ms. Stein was one of 248 young women chosen as All-State singers from the 2,300 who auditioned for judges throughout the state last spring.
The All-State Women's Chorus was conducted by Judy Bowers, Professor of Choral Music at Florida State University. The program featured an elaborate arrangement of a Brazilian folk song and contemporary musical settings of literary works by James Joyce, Sara Teasdale, Emily Dickinson, and Kahlil Gibran.
Ms. Stein is a member of the GCHS Chamber Choir, Vocal Jazz Ensemble, and Tri-M Music Honor Society, in addition to being active in Masquers theatre productions.
