The Garden City Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce its selection of honorees for 2008 to be feted at the 6th annual Pineapple Ball, Garden City's quintessential event. The gala will be held on Friday evening, April 18 7 p.m. at the Garden City Hotel.
Gerard P. Lundquist , a current Trustee and former Mayor of the Village of Garden City, has been selected as Garden City's "Citizen of the Year." Mr. Lundquist is recognized for volunteerism and outstanding service to the Village. Gerry is serving his fifth term as Village Trustee, having been a member of the Board of Trustees since 1999. He has also served on a number of subcommittees, several of which he has chaired. Professionally, Gerard Lundquist is employed by KeySpan Energy and is currently the Director of Construction for the NYC Region including Long Island.
Dennis C. Donnelly will be honored as recipient of the "Community Achievement Award" established in 1974 to commemorate outstanding professionalism and major contributions to the Village through one's profession. A member of the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Dennis serves on the Executive Committee. He has chaired the Pineapple Ball for the past five years. Honored many times over, Dennis holds the philosophy that the volunteer efforts of many residents are what help Garden City to maintain its beauty and stability.
