Police Report: Mischief and Mayhem

Between Dec. 19 and 20, someone stole a Garmin GPS valued at $450 from a car parked at a Nassau Blvd. residence... On Dec. 23, PO Wedra arrested a 63-year-old GC woman for alleged stealing over $512 in assorted fashion jewelry at Lord and Taylor... On December 16, 6:35 PM, PO Wedra arrested a 30-year Islip man for alleged DWI (.14%) at Clinton Rd after the motorist allegedly sped down Clinton Rd. When his car was stopped by the officer, he evidently parked it, left it running, and fled. He was eventually apprehended and charged with suspended license, suspended license for a prior DWI, speeding, no insurance, and unlicensed operation.... On December 23, police officers investigated a robbery that occurred at 4:35 AM at Rockaway Avenue/First Street. It seems 2 passengers got out of a car, probably a red Honda, that had cornered a news van there. One female had a knife and a man had a gun, and together ( along with the driver) they fled with $60 U.S. that they had taken from the newspaper carrier...On December 13, PO Reilly responded to the scene of a car accident where a subject, a 20-year-old GC male went around blocked traffic at Rockaway Avenue, at 2:33 PM. He was charged with DWI (drugs), unlawful possession of marijuana, unsafe lane change, failure to comply with police, failure to yield to emergency vehicle... On December 22, 2:44 AM, PO Dallolio responded to Chester Ave./Roxbury Rd., where a car was running with its driver asleep at the wheel there. The motorist, a 36-year-old GC South man, was arrested for alleged DWI (.13%) and for impeding traffic...On December 18, someone threw a rock through the living room window at a Nassau Blvd house... Over $2,000 in gifts were taken from the back of an SUV parked at the GC Hotel on December 25, 5 AM... Another motorist was arrested at 4:40 AM, on December 23, for alleged DWI (.09%) at Meadow Street/ Clinton Rd. It seems the driver of the car was asleep at the wheel and blocking traffic there...

On December 23, LIPA was called to the scene at a Heath Place house where water leaked on an inside meter pan causing smoke...The FD removed smoke from an Adams St. house by opening a chimney flue there on December 24...Natural ventilation was used to clear smoke at a Euston Rd. house on December 25...
