East Nominating Committee Selects Episcopia

The 10 Member Garden City East Nominating Committee has unanimously selected Nicholas Episcopia as its candidate for Village Trustee for a two year term commencing in April 2008. The nomination will be presented to residents at the January 15, 2008 annual Resident Electors' meeting to be held at 7:30 P.M. at the Stewart School auditorium. A resident Elector of the East is any resident who lives in the eastern section of the Village east of the center of Franklin Avenue.

Members of the Nominating Committee included Jim Carney (chairperson), Maureen Clancy, May Conti, Sue Ellen Davis, John Delany, Hal Hecken, Janet Kenny, John Pittoni, Karl Schmidt and Rex Wood.

Should any resident elector of the East wish to place in nomination any other candidate, that resident elector needs to present a petition bearing the proposed candidate's name and address and signed by 15 resident electors of the East (including addresses) at the January 15, 2008 meeting. Should that happen, a run-off election will be held in February, and the winner of that election will then be the East candidate for Village Trustee in the Village-wide election to be held in March.
