GCAA Travel Basketball

Our travel teams continue to play at a very high level in the ultra competitive Island Garden Super League. Here are some of the highlights as we head into the "Christmas break": KELLY 4TH GIRLS improved their record to 3-4 this past week beating GCAA Banahan. Shannon Kelly and Amanda Medjid led the team in their victory.........KELLY 6TH BOYS improved to 5-1 and is currently tied for first place. After scoring 24 first quarter points, the boys coasted to a 30 point victory over Dix Hills. Matt Kelly and Mark DeSantis led the boys in their latest victory.........BASEL 5TH GIRLS, currently 2-3, have been led by the scoring of Laurel Fisher and Cailee McCarthy..........RAPHAEL 5TH GIRLS improved to 3-2 with a victory over Long Beach behind the backcourt play of Alexis Leighton and Annemarie Kane........WALCZYK 6TH GIRLS are now 3-2 after a hard fought W over Syosset.........KIFFEL 8TH GIRLS continue to lead the way in the 8th and 9th grade division with a spotless 4-0 record............CAPETOLA 4TH BOYS sport a 3-1 mark after a recent triumph over Half Hollow Hills......LEIGHTON 4TH BOYS recent win over Jericho brought their record to the .500 level, now 3-3.......GRANVILLE 5TH BOYS is hanging tough in the competitive 5th grade east division. Brian Goulard and Tom Wright continue to be a force on the boards while Jack Tigh, Bobby Clarke and Chris Larkin spearhead the offensive attack with pinpoint shooting..........For complete standings and schedules for early 2008 please check the IG website at www.islandgarden.com.
