Surfing Competition Winner

Congratulations to Garden City resident, Catherine Dickinson, for her position on the winning team of the Billabong Surfrat Surf Contest.

Traveling across the U.S. to different surf beaches, Billabong encouraged young surfers to come and compete.

Good waves and sunshine made it a great day to be in the water at Long Beach, N.Y. Catherine, age 13, surfed on a team with pro and amateur east coast surfers and came in first in the competition. Catherine was given special recognition as being the first girl ever to be on the winning team in the seven years of the competitions history. Congratulations.
