Estates Nominating Committee Selects Mauk The Nominating Committee of Garden City Estates has selected John Mauk, one of the Estates' current representatives serving as a Village Trustee, as the nominee for election. The term for the Village Trustee position is a two year term commencing in April 2008. The Estates Nominating Committee consists of 15 Estates residents including Brian Daughney (Chairperson), Betsy Andromidas, James Bressingham, Tina Dimino, Susan Eigl, Ed Fitzgerald, Chris Gallic, Bob Gavigan, Tom O'Rourke, Alfred Russo, Gregory Senken, William Sheridan, John Skramko, James Sugrue, and Paul VanValkenburg. The nomination will be presented to residents at the Estates January 15th Electors' meeting. All Estates residents in attendance will vote on this nomination for Estates candidate. Any 15 or more residents of the Estates may challenge the nomination by submitting a written petition of an alternate nomination to the President of the POA before, or at, the Electors' Meeting to be held on January 15, 2008 at 8PM in Stratford School Auditorium. If a valid challenge occurs, a runoff election will take place later in January. The winner of that runoff election will then be the Estates candidate for Village Trustee in the Village-wide election in March for a two year term beginning in April. All challenges must be made in accordance with the Bylaws of the POA. A full copy of the Bylaws may be obtained from the Secretary of the POA (Michael Holland of 126 Meadbroook Road).
