GCAA Travel Basketball

Our teams are off and running in a new hoop season. We continue to compete at a very high level in the Island Garden Super League. Here's some of the highlights: Perennial power, KIFFEL 8TH GIRLS is off to a fast start with a 3-0 record which has them tied for first in the 8th and 9th Grade Girls Division........KELLY 4TH GIRLS went 1-1 this past week bringing their overall record to 2-3 playing mostly against 5th grade opponents. In their victory, with the score tied at halftime, Michaela Bruno and Nicole Leto sparked a second half run than gave them a 14 point win over St. Bernard's. The play of Juliana Kubler and Julia McGuire led the team in a tough loss to Jericho......... BASEL 5TH GIRLS have a 2-3 ledger having been paced by the ball handling of Cailee McCarthy and Laurel Nothel and the inside play of Emily Basile and Alison Hoge........RAPHAEL 5TH GIRLS brought their record to 2-2 with Alexis Leighton and Morgayne Rix starring in their latest victory.........KELLY 6TH BOYS beat a strong Plainview squad upping their record to 3-1and a tie for 2nd place in their division. The team was led by Jay Michael MacIntyre's of-fense and Tim McDonagh's rebounding. The boys opened up a 20 point lead in the first quarter and easily coasted to victory !!!!!.........GRANVILLE 5TH BOYS have two victories to their credit thus far. Colin DeAngelo and Connor Muldoon have paced the scoring attack with Jonathan Granville, Tom Tubridy and Pat Gibbons directing the way with impressive ball handling skills .........TARICHE 5TH BOYS captured their first two games of the year which puts them in a tie for first place in their division.......For complete standings and schedules check the IG's website, www.islandgarden.com .
