In Memoriam James Donald (Don) Riley, recently of Yorktown Heights, NY, and a 50+ year resident of Garden City, died unexpectedly on December 5, 2007 at the age of 78. Don was active is various community organizations throughout his years in Garden City, including the Garden City Athletic Association as a Little League coach and St. Joseph's church. He was a graduate of The St. Paul's School in Garden City, and a 1951 graduate of Hofstra University. Don was also a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean War. Don was the son of Elizabeth and William J. Riley, also residents of Garden City, and was predeceased by his brothers Edward and William J. Riley, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Veronica, who he married on April 20, 1952 in St. Joseph's church in Garden City. Don was the devoted father of Michael (Janet) of Islip, NY, Veronica (Phil) of Yorktown Heights, NY, and Jim (Susan) of Seaford, NY. Cherished grandfather of Philip, Andrew, Christopher, Kaitlin, and Julia. Visiting hours Sunday 2-4 and 7-9PM. at Clark Funeral Home 2104 Saw Mill River Road, Yorktown Heights, NY 10598. Funeral Mass Monday 10AM St. Patricks RC Church, Hanover St., Yorktown Heights, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fieldhome Holy-Comforter in Cortlandt Manor, NY.
