Garden City Retired Men's Club Events Calendar The Garden City Retired Men's Club is a non-profit membership organization formed in April 1961 for the purpose of providing educational and recreational activities for the retired male senior citizens of the Garden City community. The organization is non-sectarian and non-political. All retired men 55 years or older residing in the Incorporated Village of Garden City in the State of New York are eligible for membership upon paying a $5 initiation fee. Every Monday is Open House, or call Joe Leto at 248-9022. The Club House facility is located at No. 6 Golf Club Lane (directly behind Lord & Taylor parking lot). The building is open every day of the week, except Friday, and offers two regulation size pool tables, television, card tables, board games, outdoor Bocce, horseshoes and shuffleboard. The Programs Committee is planning a very active speaker program. Come join us! We meet from noon to 5 p.m.
The Retired Men's Club is interested in meeting with other Senior groups to discuss and present to the Village our views on the requirements of Village Senior groups in the planning of the St. Paul complex. Interested? Call Joe Leto at 248-9022, or George Salem at 248-4553.
atlantic city - here we come!! There is no December trip. Next trip will be Monday January 28 th. You can call Ed Palkot at 437-0397 to reserve for the January trip. Ed Palkot tells us the reservations fill up quickly. Don't get shut out, call Ed to save you a seat on the bus. Non-member residents of Garden City are invited.
exercise program - Closing Down for 2007 Our exercise class is slowly coming to an end for 2007. Don't forget your 3 lb. Weights. Non-member male Garden City residents are invited to join us.
christmas bells are ringing Our Christmas luncheon is set for Wednesday December 19 th, 12 noon, at Stewart Manor Country Club. The cocktail hour will feature a cheese and vegetable display and hot and cold hors d'oeuvres served butler style. The main course will be your choice of roast beef au jus (thick cut), fish or chicken, plus dessert and coffee/tea. An open bar throughout the afternoon will keep the spirits flowing. The price - a mere $40.00 per person. Non member male retired Garden City residents and guests are welcome. The bocce ball is rolling once again. The two semi-finalists are ready to meet in the finals. We will soon have a winner. Stay tuned.....
Friday Afternoon Bowling Friday afternoon bowling is rolling along. This is a fun setup. Teams are formed each bowling day, a different team each week. It's complicated, but Ron Zwicke keeps it fun. Just show up and bowl away. Here's a great opportunity to add to your exercise program and have some fun at the same time. Call Ron at 747-6842 for further details.
