Receives Commerce Bank Award

Kathleen Petronis, branch manager, Commerce Bank, Garden City, has was recently presented with the "WOW" Retailer of the Year Award by Commerce Bank. Ms. Petronis was selected at the consensus of senior managers throughout the Commerce Bank organization for this coveted award. Of nine nominees, Ms. Petronis had been one of three finalists from 450 Commerce Bank branches. The WOW Retailer of the Year Award acknowledges laudable executive perform-ance within the Commerce Bank organization.

With the receipt of the honor, Ms. Petronis was presented with a 2007 red BMW for her use over one year to mark her status as "Retailer of the Year." (Red is the color emblematic of Commerce Bank.) Kathleen Petronis came to the Garden City market in l977 when asked to manage the Seventh Street branch of the Bank of New York. She joined Commerce Bank in 2002. A current member of the Garden City Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors for which she has served several terms, Kathleen also serves as treasurer of both the Chamber of Commerce Charitable Foundation and the Mineola-Garden City Rotary Club. She was recently photo-graphed at Commerce Bank in her new BMW, where she was complemented on her award by Roger Eltringham, Chamber president. "We are proud of Kathleen. She is an asset to the Garden City Chamber and to our business communitiy as well," said Eltringham.
