Storyteller Performs At Homestead

LuAnn Adams entertains the first graders at Homestead School.

On Tuesday October 16th Storyteller LuAnn Adams performed "Folktales for 21st Century Storytelling", for kindergarten and first graders at Homestead Primary School. The multipurpose room served as the stage for four multicultural tales. These included stories about children in Haiti and Africa. Each story was vividly performed by Ms. Adams using musical instruments and prose. The children learned valuable life lessons including: the greatest treasure in life is your friends, and children can do anything when they work together.

The children had a great time at their first assembly for the school year. The next assembly will take place in December. Bob McEntee will perform "Magic Beyond Imagination".

This program was coordinated by the Arts in Education Committee of the Garden City School District Parent Teacher Association, funded by the Garden City Union Free School District.
