Tonight: Cooney Fans Vote for Him With Their Feet

Some call him "The last of the great band showmen." Others, like the New York TIMES tout him as "Irish America's favorite son." But, St. Anne's parishioners, who helped launch his career as a teenager in Paddy Noonan's band, skip the superlatives and still show their appreciation of his talents by voting for singer/ band leader Andy Cooney with their feet. Another great turnout of over 600 is expected to pack McCloskey Auditorium, Dartmouth St. & New Hyde Park, Road tonight, December 7 at 8 PM for Cooney's 2007 edition of a "A Classic Irish Christmas." Tickets, still at $25, are available at the box office. The fast-moving concert is sponsored by "Msgr. John's Knights." Note: An estimated total of over 1,350 fans turned out for the 2005 and 2006 Cooney Christmas concerts, here.
