The Circle Does Go Around

Dr. "Bugs" Bower.
Remember the popular songs of the 50's and 60's… they were wonderful, romantic, melodic, and intelligent.

Today, you hear one of them played, and like living in a time capsule, you remember where you were the first time you heard it!

As unbelievable as it may seem, after years and years of rap; countries in Europe, including; Germany, Italy, France, Greece, Belgium, and the Netherlands, have been listening, watching, and buying thousands of CD's and DVD's of a new recording titled: The Crooners, by Helmut Lotti.

He is now the Perry Como of Europe singing these standards, including: Mona Lisa , What A Wonderful World, True Love, and Caterina.

Last summer, Garden City resident, Dr. "Bugs" Bower, received a telephone call from WTVS, Detroit Public Television. They explained, that since he is the publisher of one of the songs, Caterina, that's included in these recordings, they needed a license from him to be able to market it. "Bugs", along with Earl Shuman the lyricist, is the music composer and publisher of Caterina.

It was recorded by Perry Como in 1962, and became Perry's first hit of the new year. Now, 45 years later, it is an International HIT again!

Creative people who invent, compose, write books, lyrics, Broadway plays, etc., should know that the copyright law has been extended!

Now, it is 70 years after the death of the last living co-author.

As the title of this article explains, The Circle Does Go Around! for Dr. "Bugs".
