STAR Tax Rebate Program Extended

Assemblyman Tom McKevitt (R,C,I - East Meadow) wants to inform his constituents that the deadline for the STAR Rebate Program has been extended until December 31, 2007. "You still have a chance to receive this great offer from New York State, but don't delay. Time is running out and I believe it is important for all property owners to get the tax break they deserve". McKevitt stated.

The Middle Class STAR Rebate Program is a program that provides direct property tax relief to taxpayers by sending rebate checks to homeowners from the State of New York for a portion of their school taxes. The Middle Class STAR Program will provide an additional $6 billion to the STAR program over the next three years, with this year totaling $1.3 billion.

All basic homeowners who are enrolled in the STAR program, who have not yet received their application, can do so by contacting my office at (516) 739-5119. Those eligible for this program must have a household income of less than $250,000 and be real property homeowners.

"I urge homeowners to get in contact with my office to receive your refund. I am happy and willing to assist my constituents in any way that I can. Act fast and get this offer while you still can."
