After completing their first winning season since 1995 and finishing with a 6-4 record, the Gettysburg College Bullets made their first postseason appearance since 1985, when the Bullets advanced to the semifinals of the NCAA Division III Championship.
Starting his 26 consecutive games at nose tackle, Junior Anthony Pastore played against the Carnegie Mellon University football team who hosted the 2007 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Southwest Bowl Saturday on November 17.
Although the Bullets lost 21-20 in the last seconds of the game, their participation marked a definitive turn around in a football program that has for the past 3 years won four, five and six games respectively after a dismal one win season in 2004.
This turnaround resulted from a very productive offense and a tough defense against the run which allowed only one rusher to gain more than 100 yards in the past 12 games dating back to the past season.
Anthony who played nose tackle for the Garden City Long Island Champs in 2003 looks forward to completing his forth and final season at Gettysburg next year.
