Making Plans

The long-range planning committee of The Community Club of Garden City and Hempstead recently met at the home of Muriel Urban. The committee was formed a number of years ago to look into future plans for the club and now they meet on a regular basis. The chairlady is Beatrice Mercadante, the recording secretary is Muriel Urban, and members include Joan Afflerbach, Julie Fehler, Marge Goldsmith, club president Marye Heston, Carolyn Kaiser, Blanche Muller, Betty Pupke, Marie Scott and Frieda Stark.

The Community Club presents programs in Americanism/current events, art, drama/literature, a literary series, garden, music and a monthly general program. They offer a wide variety of trips and a series of art classes through their studio dept.
