Class of 195750th Reunion

The Class of 1957 from Garden City High School held its 50 th Reunion on the weekend of October 20 th. Many events took place. There were village bus tours, given by John Kordes, the village historian. Friday night there was a reception at the Senior Men's Club. Saturday there was a breakfast at the GC Coffee Shop, formerly known as The Sandwich Shop, where classmates used to go while attending GC High. There was a class meeting at the high school, and the graduates also had an opportunity to take a guided tour of the school. The main event was a dinner and evening at the Garden City Casino, where class members put on an entertaining show. The last event of the busy weekend was a brunch at Leo's on Sunday. Pete Haeffner of Garden City was the capable reunion chairman, assisted by Gary Savage and many other committee members. It was indeed a successful and memorable weekend, and a wonderful time was had by all. About 100 class members attended from all over the country.
