Cathedral Nursery School Visits Pumpkin Farm!

Mrs. Basile and Mrs. Cutrone's 4 year olds learn about planting vegetables.
Cathedral Nursery School took their science studies on the road this month with a trip to Schmitt's Pumpkin Farm in Melville on October 16th. All of our 4-year-old classes, along with teachers, parents, grandparents and siblings enjoyed a spectacular fall day with sunny skies and temperatures in the mid 60's.

The Cathedral Family took a hayride through Schmitt's Pumpkin patch where the group was welcomed to pick their own pumpkins to take home. The fun and learning continued with a tour of the farm's vegetable garden and some "hands on" harvesting as the students picked their own radishes! The day was topped off with some old-fashioned horseplay on the farm playground, which included haystack slides, a converted fire truck and a pirate ship.

Cathedral Nursery School students, faculty and family members thoroughly enjoyed this unique experience!!

Elizabeth and Ashley Hommel, Deanna Turner, Mason Carpentier, Jack Hommel, Quinn Sullivan and Blaise Takvor are waiting to board the Hayride.
Mrs. Creatore and Mrs. Cutrone's 4 year old class plays on the haystacks.
