Community Club Focuses On Banking

International banker Edward W. Bjelke was the speaker at the meeting of the Community Club on October 31st at the Garden City Casino.

Mr. Bjelke has a long and distinguished career in international banking. During his program he presented a Power Point presentation on the various systems used to execute international payments.

Rosemary McCathy chairs the Americanism/Current Events Department. She was assisted at this program by Patricia Molen, who introduced the speaker and Martha Widner, who was the speaker's aide. Terry Ferrari and Anne Marie Smith greeted members at the door and Carol Countryman and Josephine Cotugno welcomed guests. Genevieve Furman was in charge of hospitality, assisted by Anne Marie Smith, May-Belle Schein and Martha Widner. Veronica Witt and Amy Small served coffee and tea. The Halloween decorations were created by Josephine Krawczyk. Beatrice Mercadante handled the arrangements.

The Community Club offers a variety of programs, trips and creative art classes from October through May. For more information about the club, call 747-0488 on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday between 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
