Police Report: Mischief and Mayhem

On November 11, PO Oswald arrested a 26-year-old Glen Cove man for alleged speeding, the failure to maintain a lane, obstructing a window, and alleged DWI (.12%). The motorist was also driv-ing without insurance... PO Oswald arrested a 21-year-old Hempstead man for alleged DWI (.16%), not signaling a lane change, the failure to maintain a lane, and making an unsafe start from a parked position , at Clinton Rd., on November 10, 3 AM...A 28-year-old woman from Hempstead allegedly took 3 items; one Context shirt, 1 cashmere dress, and 1 cashmere sweater, at Lord and Taylor, on November 8...An Ipod and 2 Barbie dolls were taken from a car parked at a Harrison Street residence between November 5 and 6... On November 8, 3:35 AM, PO Oswald arrested a 37-year-old Mineola man for alleged DWI (.11%), tailgating and making a right turn where it was not allowed...On November 6, a Trek 800 Sport bicycle valued at $240 was stolen from the front porch of a Russell Road house... On October 31, at 8:30 PM, two rocks were thrown at the living room window of a Kilburn Road house, damaging the window and blinds at $1,000 in damage...PO Florio responded to the scene of car accident at Old Country Road, on November 6, at around 6 PM, and he arrested a 48-year-old East Meadow woman, the driver of one car, for alleged DWAI ( impaired drugs). There were 4 cars involved and all drivers claimed some kind of injury. The East Meadow woman was taken to the hospital for face injuries and the other women had arm injuries, leg injuries, and head injuries, respectively... On November 2, a truck stop was conducted at Washington Avenue and there were 6 trucks inspected with 34 tickets issued...

There was a call for electric wiring at a Pine Street residence on November 7... A front door bell chime shorted out and overheated at a Third Street residence on November 8... Excessive smoke from a cleaning grill activated an alarm at Seventh Street on November 9... Natural ventilation was used to dissipate slight smoke at a Euston Rd. house on November 12...
