Swim, Diving Team Takes Championship

Schlichte, Daly, Zarriello, Derlath - 400 Free Relay Team that broke school and county records!

The Nassau County Swimming and Diving Championships were held this past week at the Eisenhower Pool. The girls were looking for their 9 th consecutive year win. - and they found it.

On Thursday, November 1 st, the divers, Sarah Kupferberg and Tina Dampman, competed against 31 other high school divers. Sarah and Tina did an outstanding job and brought points to the team. Coach Sullivan was very pleased with their performances.

On Saturday, November 3 rd, the swimmers took to the pool for finals. The girls were up against very tough competition especially from Sewanhaka and great Neck South. Every race was intense till the last touch. Coach Sullivan strategizes the team to score points.

Sarah Schlichte, Erica Derlath, Megan Zarriello and Jenna Daly teamed up and broke, not only the school record, but set a new county record in the 400 freestyle relay. Jenna Daly also set a new school record in the 100 freestyle.

Erica Derlath and Jenna Daly were both crowned "Most Valuable Swimmer" 2007-2008 season.
