Garden City's girl's volleyball team entered the playoffs as the No. 2 seed with a quarterfinal game against South Side on November 2nd. Rebecca Langer's 12 kills and three aces, Kaitlyn Olsen's eight kills and three blocks and Allison Castel's 11 assists and four kills led the Trojans to a 25-19, 25-17, 25-15 victory over the Cyclones. With this victory behind them, the team was looking forward to a rematch with Wantagh who won last years county final.

Although this year's match against Wantagh wasn't the county final, it didn't matter. It was still the Nassau Class A semifinal and the Trojans were on a roll having won their last three matches. Garden City traveled to Long Beach on Monday, November 5th with determination to make it to the county final. With Jenna Kirschner's 19 assists, and Rebecca Langer and Carolyn Cutrone each with nine kills, the Tro-jans beat Wantagh 3-1, (25-20, 21-25, 25-22, 25-11). Next up was No. 1 West Hempstead for the county title, that was played on Thursday November 8th at Hofstra. That game occurred too late for this edition but you can see photos from the game against Wantagh at www.Newsphoto.com
