The GC Bombers Take On Levittown

Tommy Reifler looks for Ball 4
The GC Bombers 9U team finished the fall season with a gritty 12-12 tie vs. Levittown in 40-50kt wind gusts. Joey Rocco and Kyle Ascher were in the middle of the first 2 runs scored by the Bombers but after some early success by the Bombers, Levittown took an 11-5 lead after five innings.

The Bombers scored three runs in the 6th and three in the 7th to tie the game at 11. In the seventh inning Andrew Hammersley, Tommy Reifler and Jack Molitor all reached base and scored as Ross Sutton delivered the big hit. Defense and pitching was the key to the comeback. Early in the game, William Hammersley pitched two strong innings. To close it out Michael McGuire gave up one run over the final three innings. The Bombers escaped the 8th trailing only by 1 as Brendan "Pudge" McGuire gunned down a base runner attempting to steal second. Zach-ary Lambraia led off the top of the 9th with a walk and Brendan Burke drove him in for the tying run with his second hit of the day. Michael McGuire kept the score tied by striking out the last batter with the winning run at 3rd.
