The Garden City Nursery School opened its doors on September 10, 2007 to welcome both new and returning students parents for another school year. The children were visibly happy to be at school, meet their teachers and see their friends. The Garden City Nursery School has been nurturing and educating the the children of our community for 57 years and offers a cooperative structure which permits parents the rewarding experience of hands-on participation in their children's nursery school curriculum. The participation of parents, together with the talented and dedicated teachers and staff, has been and continues to be integral to the success of the school.
The parents of the school spent Saturday September 8, 2007 preparing and refurbishing the playground area for the school's opening. On Friday September 29, 2007, the nursery school was transformed into a jazzy night club for the annual Pot Luck Supper. A special surprise this year included entertainment by a three piece jazz band from Lincoln Center. It was a wonderful evening filled with great music and delicious home cooked meals. This annual event is a great opportunity for parents to meet other parents and socialize with teachers in an informal and relaxed setting.
