Electronic Newsletter Suggests What To Read Next

So many books, so many choices. What to read next? Suppose you could get a free newsletter recommending great reads on your favorite topics? NextReads, a new electronic newsletter service, which is available through the Garden City Public Library, does just that. If you have an email address, you can subscribe to NextReads online through the Library's database link. Patrons can select from the 22 subject lists which include annotations about the books. Fiction and nonfiction newsletter topics include biography and memoir, fantasy, mystery, nature and science, and audiobooks, as well as two children's newsletters and one for young adults.

Newsletters are sent on a monthly or bimonthly basis. Each one describes up to 12 books, with links to the Library catalog so that subscribers can place a hold on a title. Library patrons who do not have an email address can view the newsletters online, either at the Library or from any computer with Internet access.

For a full listing of the Library's electronic services, visit the Library website at www.gardencitypl.org and click on the link to "Databases." Most are available both in the Library and at home. For remote access, enter the barcode number from your Garden City Public Library card when prompted.
