Thunder 11 Maroon Make It To The Big Dance!

The take down
Though the final score of last Sunday's game was not in the Thunder 11 Maroon's favor, the mood brightened by the news of a playoff berth. So despite a tough loss to Massapequa at the close of the season, the team now refocuses on the post season.

Joe Leto was asked what it meant to him making it to the playoffs. Joe remarked, "It's what we've been aiming for. All season long, it's about keeping your eye on the prize, man." Stay focused, young man.

The team showed the grit and guile that makes for good football. A second half team for sure, they made strides on both sides of the ball over the course of the season. Running backs Preziosi, Blair, McLauglin and Stasco all improved their games. D-Linemen Crieghton, Keating, Byrnes Bros., and McGoldrick played tough against the best competition the league had to offer. Linebackers Harder, Holland, Moran and Minion all played the swarming defense that the coaches asked for. We could go on and on.

But now it's down to business. The playoffs. In Farmingdale. Do these guys have what it takes? Coach Blair was asked that very question after the game on Sunday. Coach replied, "I would take these guys over anybody... anybody. Quote me on that." You got it coach.

Looking for daylight
The key to winning football games is preparation and a positive attitude. There is no shortage of either with this group. Coach Ireland really made the kids work this year, "I push and push, but you know what? These kids can take it, and now we get to play another day."

Playoffs.

12:30 at Farmingdale.

Go Thunder!
