A Muddy Mess For Patriettes The Patriettes U-11 girl's soccer team braved the elements Saturday and faced off against Rockville Centre. Both teams were challenged by wet, muddy conditions, which made running and kicking tricky business. The Patriette offense was met by an aggressive RVC defense, which made it difficult to generate shots on goal. The Patriette defense repeatedly turned back an opportunistic RVC offense while negotiating the slippery turf. The Garden City goal tender, ever vigilant, made great saves, but RVC slipped one in the net before the half. RVC put another ball into the Garden city net well into the second half. The Patriettes retaliated with a late score but time ran out on them, giving Garden city a 2-1 loss.
